Storm Field. Amy Freeze. Sounds like a two comic book heroes, right? Neither are. Most of us are familiar with the first name. He was a weatherman on WABC and WCBS in New York for a number of years, through most of my childhood. Amy is a fellow meteorologist, who works on WABC during the weekends.
The point I’m trying to make is this: what’s with the wacky names? I could understand if you were in porn or some other shady type of entertainment (or a wannabe superhero) that one would want to hide their true identity. Are these characters sought out at birth to become weather people? When deciding a name, did their parents put forth the idea of “Hey, little Suzie should be a weather woman when she grows up. Let’s change her name to Hale-y” ?
There are plenty of posts about this topic, so I’m not the only one who wonders about this inanity.
