Marvel Us

I had the joy of watching Marvel’s The Avengers this week, and I am happy to say it was fantastic!  Its top notch action was non-stop and the villain was very thought out.

I will try not spoil anything for those who have not seen the movie.  Avengers pick up a short time after the end of Thor, around when Captain America was thawed out of ice.  Loki, the villain from Thor, is back and he is threatening the earth.  The only hope is for the Avengers to assemble and save the day.  Joss Whedon does a great job making the movie very entertaining when action isn’t happening.  The character interactions are top notch as is the acting.  I would go so far as to say Whedon took what Favreau did with Tony Stark and took him a step further!  While I know some people might complain how there was not enough of this character or that one, I thought it was a perfect mix for the time limits they had.  I will say that the Hulk will get a lot of new fans from this movie and hopefully it will translate into another movie for him.  The plot was not very complicated.  This is great when you have so many little subplots with so many characters.  The movie did something that I absolutely love with super hero movies in that it introduces the main villain early and has a few confrontations before the big finale.  Too often, you don’t see the main villain until the last scenes and you don’t get a good rivalry feeling from the hero and villain.

Overall, I highly recommend this movie to everyone.  It is the best super hero movie I have seen so far or at least right up there is Daredevil…I am kidding I mean The Dark Knight.  I am thrilled to give this movie 5 out of 5 coconuts.  Oh yeah, make sure you stay through the entire credits there are two extra scenes: one half way and one at the very end.
